Compassion | Guided sound bath meditation 5/13/23 at Grounded Wellness in Hoffmann Estates, IL
Among emotion researchers, compassion is defined as the feeling that arises when a person is confronted with another's suffering and feels motivated to relieve that suffering. While compassion is not the same as empathy or altruism, the concepts are related. Compassion is one of the core values of the ‘Mutual Learning’ approach as it means to temporarily suspend judgment so that one can appreciate others' perspectives or situations when they are different from one’s own. In order to be compassionate, the individual needs to be genuinely concerned about the other person or people's needs. An opener for that ability is to be present and aware.

Our sound space envelopes listeners in a uniquely rhythmic, melodic and pleasing fashion while the gong’s vibrational and sonic characteristics deeply resonate and harmonize all 50+ trillion cells of the body. The experience activates the parasympathetic nervous system and triggers a deep relaxation response. It furthermore invites a natural synchronization of the brain's right and left hemispheres. Combined, these powerful elements facilitate a change in one’s nature of being and potentially restore an intrinsic state of inner balance…homeostasis.
Throughout, you will be introduced to mindfulness techniques of a sonic nature. The only requirement for you to benefit is to bring an open mind, wear comfortable clothing, and come with a mat, pillow and blanket to cover up (all optional).
