What to know about the Koshi Chime
The four available melodies, Terra (Earth), Aqua (Water), Aria (Air) and Ignis (Fire) were inspired by the four elements. Each chime has a specific magic timbre and can be played harmoniously alone, or with any or all the others.
Eight metal rods are welded with silver into the metal plate at the base of the resonance tube, and a precise tuning technique creates a play of clear tones When moved, a glass pendulum strikes the rods to create the magical melodies.
With its resonance tube made of bamboo veneer, a material known since prehistoric times for its high acoustical quality, the Koshi chime is deep in sound and rich in overtones, providing a harmonically circular sound experience.
The crystalline relaxing sound of the Koshi chime is sure to carry you away and leave you transformed in quiet wonder.
How to play the Koshi Chime
Whether played by the wind or activated by hand or breath for relaxation, therapeutic and meditative purposes, each chime possesses sound based qualities to move you into a ‘dreamy’ tranquil and reflective state. Koshi chimes produce a complex sound with deep, enriched harmonics and full overtones. They are ideal for introspection, and even better when combined with an intention or visualization. We utilize Koshi Chimes in all our sound bath events and it is apparent how the sound transports participants into other dimensions.
Easy care
Measuring 6.5” in length and 2.5” in diameter, Koshi Chimes can be put outside, while it is best to not directly expose them to the rain. In order to maintain their rich look, we recommend to treat them regularly with a protective oil such as colorless Tung or Teak oil.
