Flat head felt mallet for singing bowls and gongs
Felt tip mallet made of hardwood with a comfortable and well balanced feel. The flat ice-hockey puck like head is felt wrapped and ideal for the tapping of larger singing bowl of 7" and up.
The felt ensures a medium soft and distinct touch point sound when striking the bowl with it. It assists in generating the lower frequency and tonal ranges of the bowl and is a bit harder than the round tip felt mallet. This mallet can also be used for the play of gongs and Burmese Bells.
Approximate dimensions are: small mallet head 3" dia. with an overall length of 12", large mallet head 3.75" dia. with an overall length of 13", sizes approximate. Items are hand crafted in Kathmandu, Nepal.
